If you get to spend as many days on the hill as we do (or as we like to), you know that snow pants take a beating, and we find it pretty annoying that most of them begin to fail after a season or two. Given our background in protective motorcycle wear, we understand tough fabrics and how to build a garment that moves without sacrificing protection. With that in mind, we built the Seeker, a snow pant that will stand up to whatever you throw at it.
The Seeker is made of a 3-layer fabric that is seam sealed, waterproof, wind resistant, and breathable. This smart fabric adjusts its level of heat retention and breathability to the conditions, meaning it retains heat during times of inactivity and allows it to escape when you’re starting to break a sweat. Essentially, you’ll be warm whether you’re hiking up or ripping down the mountain. It’s also insulated with 80 grams of PrimaLoft® Silver insulation at the seat and knees (a bonus for snowboarders). Mountain-ready features include a magnet-locking removable belt, weatherproof zippers, zippered leg openings, reinforced scuff guards, and snow gaiters with gripper tape. There are also zippered hand pockets, zippered cargo pockets, and vents at the thigh so you stay cool even when you’re really going for it. In extreme conditions, special loops along the back can be directly attached to the snow skirt on our Alpine, Fusion, Crest Down, and Altitude jackets.
The Seeker Snow Pant also comes integrated with a RECCO® rescue reflector which can lead snow-patrol rescuers to a buried avalanche victim. In the event of an avalanche, rescue teams shoot an electronic signal into the snow and victims wearing a RECCO® reflector bounce the signal back to a RECCO® detector, guiding the rescuers to their exact location.
