Designed for those bone-chilling nights in the city, the Barrier gives you the confidence to brave the urban tundra.

It has a rugged Scottish waxed-cotton exterior that offers complete protection against the elements as well as a tangible sense of durability. It’s insulated with 133 grams of PrimaLoft® GOLD and lined with a plush microfiber ripstop interior. It also features a 3-point adjustable hood for increased peripheral vision, chest drop pockets with velcro closures, interior hem adjustment, and an interior phone pocket with a lift strap for easy access.

The Barrier is made from a natural canvas fabric with a waxed finish. When properly maintained and cared for, this material can last for an extremely long time. However, if the wax is not replenished on a regular basis then the canvas will  begin to rapidly deteriorate. This breakdown is not covered under our Lifetime Guarantee, but can be easily averted with proper care. Here is what you can do to ensure you get the most out of your waxed jacket.

1.) Wax should be replenished at least once a year, but possibly more frequently depending on the amount of use. Look for areas where the wax might be wearing thin. High exposure areas such as shoulders, sleeves, and cuffs tend to wear out first.
2.) Purchase reproofing wax. We recommend Martexin.
3.) Follow the instructions included with the reproofing wax. They will direct you to spot clean the jacket, warm the wax, and apply evenly across the entire garment - with extra attention to well-worn areas.
4.) Once the wax has cooled, your jacket will be ready to go - with a proofing just as good, if not better, than it comes with from the factory.
