
Skating at night can be a blast, however actually seeing where you are going can be another issue all together. Even in the most well lit city parks there are still shadows, and those dark spots are notorious for hiding all the sand and gravel. So unless you wanted to bring in your own lighting or risk taking an unexpected digger, then you were out of luck.
In thinking about this problem, artist and skater Koo Jeong-A decided to create OTRO, the world’s first glow in the dark skate park. The park is located in Brussels, Belgium and has been built using a special green phosphorescent concrete that absorbs light during the day and lights up at night. It features two bowls, a cradle, and a tunnel to skate through. Check out the images below.

That is beautiful. What happens when the urban artists spray their art on top of the concrete? Hopefully it will add to the experience. I would love to see it first hand.
