We recently had a chance to catch up with John Ward of ICON Trucks and take a tour of his Los Angeles based garage. Frustrated with the limited options for off-road enthusiasts, John started ICON with the desire to take the classic designs of the past and marry them with modern automotive technologies. We may have finally found somebody as crazy about combining form and function as we are.

John is all too familiar with the mechanical limitation of old machines. His other company, TLC, is dedicated to servicing and restoring old Toyota Land Cruisers.  This got John thinking, “if I was to revisit the FJ40 my way, how would I do it?” With that ICON trucks was born. The two companies now work side-by-side out of the same space.
